I DO STILL HAVE MY DAYS YA’LL

“There is no greater threat to the critics and cynics and fearmongers

Than those of us who are willing to fall

Because we have learned how to rise

With skinned knees and bruised hearts;

We choose owning our stories of struggle,

Over hiding, over hustling, over pretending.

When we deny our stories, they define us.

When we run from struggle, we are never free.

So we turn toward truth and look it in the eye.

We will not be characters in our stories.

Not villains, not victims, not even heroes.

We are authors of our lives.

We write our own daring endings.

WE CRAFT LOVE FROM HEARTBREAK

COMPASSION FROM SHAME,

GRACE FROM DISAPPOINTMENT,

COURAGE FROM FAILURE.

SHOWING UP IS OUR POWER.

STORY IS OUR WAY HOME.

TRUTH IS OUR SONG.

WE ARE THE BRAVE AND BROKEN-HEARTED.

WE ARE RISING STRONG.”

– Brene Brown

Just because it looks like I am RISING STRONG it took and takes a lot to get there. I still struggle. With each struggle I just choose to get back up. I have days I am down and out. Days where I want to quit. I have days that I can hardly stand because of the pain I still have in my heart. But it makes me who I am. It makes me stronger. It makes my armor that much more sturdy, my heart that much more open. With each battle I have faced and won I have become me. Trials in life can either take you down or build you higher. You choose. “There is no greater threat to the critics and cynics and fear mongers Than those of us who are willing to fall Because we have learned how to RISE.”

  1. Beautiful said. Blessings to you from another pain sufferer only that, in my case, it’s chronic back pain and the anxiety that comes from it.

Face that beast head on and continue to become the warrior for living life and not just existing in it is what I say as an empowerment coach.

    Much love, Emma
